Bulldozers and Bad Neighbors

Well last Thursday was pretty eventful. We had a landscaper up at the land take down some trees and brush. He called me at work at like 9am because the people who own rent the property that sits behind our back yard were freaking out at him. Our poor landscaper must have called me 5 times... The cops came once, and he almost got run over by that crazy woman! I sorted it all out with the guy who owns the property (who we bought the land from, and he is super duper nice) and he promised to settle her down. The lady thought were were cutting down "her" trees and also told him to get off "her driveway" in both cases, she was out of line. I really hope she becomes a "good neighbor" because we don't feel like dealing with psychopaths who think they own everything when they dont even pay the taxes. Ugh! But the corner of the lot sure did get cleaned  up nicely.

I went up Saturday and saw the bulldozer. The property is all staked out, but it seems like we are kinda close to those loons, you know what they say "fences make good neighbors". The back of our house is about 60 feet away from the property line, so it seems.

Saturday afternoon I got an email from our builder. The set date for the foundation walls is tentatively November 16th and 17th. If our permits get completed by this Friday, he said he would start digging! So finally we are ready to break ground. From here on out, this blog will mostly consist of pictures of the construction.. unless we have any funny little stories to add. The builder is still hoping to be under roof by winter... which is rapidly approaching. I guess the good thing is the land isn't frozen yet, so at least the foundation will be done by the end of November. The first thing we get to pick is roof shingle color...
