Well, as many of you already know... Marcus and I are officially engaged! On Christmas Eve, we went ring shopping. After I picked the one I liked best we had to wait 2 weeks for it to come in. Since I asked Marcus almost every day if it was in yet, me actually getting the ring was not a surprise. So this is basically how it went down.
This past Monday around 2:10 pm the realtor called me to schedule a showing from 2-3. Well I called Marcus and asked him if he got the message.... he did not, and mentioned how he "went out" I asked "did you go get my ring?" and he responded "No, I went to WAWA" At this point I pretty much knew he had gone to get he ring, because he rarely goes out to lunch now and he mentioned to me earlier in the day what he was going to be eating for lunch. So I just said "hmmm" and left it at that.(not wanting to complete ruin my semi-surprise)
So I got a text from him around 3:15, and then a picture of a little present. I asked what it was, and he replied "a hoagie" So I knew I really had something to look forward to when I got home!
Later that night, after he asked for my father's blessing, I received my ring! YAY!
We do not have a date set, but we are not planning any type of big wedding. We may even book a flight to Vegas! April 2012 will mark 11 years of us being together. Yes, quite a long time. With each passing year, I believe we enjoy eachother more and more. It is so fun growing and changing with someone. We have both learned so much from each other and are looking forward to an exciting future together.
On to the house news, which isn't too much. We met with the electrician today. It was actually more exciting then it sounds. We discussed where all our lights and outlets would be. We are very happy with things so far, and the electrician seems really great. This coming week hopefully the roof will be finished and then they will be able to start working inside. I don't really have any new pictures this week.
Wanted to touch briefly on my health, in case anyone was wondering.
I met with the oncology team the other week and discussed my situation with him. I had a PET scan done which showed him where my cancer nodes were. There are 3 which can be seen. They are all in different places and the Doctor doesn't seem to think surgery would be the best option right now, because surgery would not be able to remove all of these cancerous nodes. They did some blood work and have some more blood work scheduled for early March. The Doctor is thinking about raising my medicine dosage and trying to keep the cancer from growing. Thyroid cancer is very interesting, it does not grow fast so upping my dosage could just keep it manageable. There are also a few other options, with one being to see a specialist in thyroid cancer. Maybe get on a clinical trial. For now, I am waiting until March and see where I am at. I am thankful not to have surgery, because that was a very stressful idea. I appreciate everyone's prayers, please continue to pray that the cancer will be gone from my body, and I will be completely healed. Praise God!
